Reunion (1998) (ORIGINAL LINE-UP) 320 Kbps MP3 ALBUM Black Sabbath
Album Description:
REUNION is a live album by heavy metal band Black Sabbath.
After the departure of vocalist Ozzy Osbourne in 1979, Black Sabbath's original line-up slowly lost stability in 1979 and never quite recovered. Following a couple of one-off reunions in 1985 and 1992, the original line-up of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward got back together for good in 1997.
Rivaled only by Kiss' reunion of founding members, Black Sabbath's reformation was a long awaited and eagerly anticipated occurrence that had fans gnashing their teeth anytime rumors of reconciliation were proven false (such as the aftermath of the band's 1985 Live Aid appearance). REUNION puts all the hearsay to rest in the shape of a December 1997 show recorded in the band's hometown of Birmingham, England. This live album was put together from the first two shows after the reunion, at the Birmingham N.E.C. Along with live versions of such classic Sabbath songs as "Paranoid", "N.I.B.", "Black Sabbath", "Iron Man" and more obscure material such as "Spiral Architect", it also features two new studio tracks - "Selling My Soul" and "Psycho Man".
Despite all the dark imagery Black Sabbath conjures up, Ozzy Osborne is quite the avuncular frontman, showering the crowd with "we love you all" declarations in between such ominous songs as "War Pigs" and "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath." Tony Iommi's guitar playing that night showed his range extending beyond the narrow confines of hard rock, as the acoustic beauty of "Orchid" was a dichotomous prelude to the crunch of "Lord Of This World."
"Iron Man" won the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance.
